ARE THESE DEMOS FOR THE NEW TONY DANZA TAPDANCE EXTRAVAGANZA ALBUM?

Cheers to those crack investigative reporters over at Heavy Blog is Heavy. They noticed that Josh Travis, guitarist for The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, has been posting some new demos to his Soundcloud page, and that while there’s absolutely no confirmation of this, those demos sound an awful lot like they could be TTDTE material. Now, maybe that’s just Travis’ writing… but as HBIH notes, “It’s not exactly a secret that the band… have been writing,” so it seems entirely feasible that, yes, this is a preview of things to come.

You can check some of the demos here, and the others in the below YouTube clip. Whatever project they’re actually for, they sound extremely promising. Danza III: The Series of Unfortunate Events was like one beard hair away from ending up on my 2010 “Best Of” list, so I am definitely watering at the mouth for whatever the band puts out next.

I never cared for these guys because of the stupid name, gave me the impression they were a generic deathcore band, boy was I wrong. Never judge a book by its cover I guess.

    that sounded pretty darn good

cotton needs a new pair of shorts!!!

  • Cw

Crushingly heavy is the only proper descriptor

  • A normal human like the rest of you

This is killer stuff! He actually uses all eight strings and doesn’t just stick to Meshuggian poly rhythms and riffing the whole time.

  • Tha Rev’Rend

Whatever project this is for, I’m on board. This is bad ass!

  • Jewers

Whatever this is, it’s gonna be killer.

  • TomHanksFan

It may be for his first band When Knives Go Skyward. It has been listed that they are trying to release a LP this year, but it may just be rumors.

    • Jgh

      I loved wkgs.
      Did rhey release an album?

      • KMFCM

nope, there was no official release

just two versions that leaked online

but WKGS made a new Facebook and posted that they’re apparently making another album.

  • evilfatguy

It would be disappointing if they jumped on the Djentwagon too…

This is fucking great. I can definitely see this becoming new Danza material.

I really think this could be new Danza, especially because of the “Big riff” that happens at like 1:50.

  • keepitwolfson

It’s probably When Knives Go Skyward or his other bands riffs. Danza is recording their new album right now though.

  • RandomGuitarist

This is NOT new Danza. This is Josh and a couple of past members of his old bands putting together some “solo” stuff before the new TTDTE album.

  • Ron Deuce

Sounds a lot like the stuff on Danza III and I loved that album.

  • Seb

What guitar is he playing in the youtube video picture (make and model)… anyone?

  • ThisIsNecessary

The more I listen to Danza II the more I appreciate their chaotic riffs. Never a dull moment with these guys it seems. This material though, while still sounding great of course, seems like they could cut out the ambient keys and be better for it. But this might not even be Danza material, so if not then whatever. I dig their style, and I hope the new material doesnt venture into Djent-land, they seem to do quite fine with their style as is.
