Ex-Bury Your Dead Singer Releases Lounge Cover of Nirvana’s “Come As You Are”

Myke Terry

Yet another lost opportunity! Given Bury Your Dead’s reputation for breakdowning their breakdowns with some more breakdowns, I’d fully expect ex-vocalist Myke Terry (2007-2011) to pepper his cover of Nirvana’s “Come As You Are” with a healthy dose of… ya know. Instead he’s taken a more srs direction.

But at least it’s not just a straight cover; it plays kind of like a Portishead lounge version of the Nirvana classic with some neat ambient sound effects and vocal harmonies. Also, who knew this guy could sing so well?? Dat falsetto! Kurt Cobain’s statue is probably crying joyous tears of pure heroin right about now. Someone get this guy in a band in which he can utilize his vocals talents in a way other than background noise for breakdowns ASAP.
