This New Vanna Song Rips! Wait, What?

0

Vanna - VoidI’m a piece of shit, I admit it. I judged Vanna because they used to be on Artery Recordings, the label whose bread and butter is 5th-gen metalcore and 3rd-gen generic deathcore bands like A Bullet For Pretty Boy, Alesana, Attila, Buried in Verona, Chelsea Grin, I Declare War and so on and so forth. Basically, if your band came very late to the party in the metalcore or deathcore scene, you play lots of breakdowns and/or use tons of autotune, you’re on Artery.

Except for Vanna, who, as it turns out, began their career at Epitaph and just signed with Pure Noise. And who, as it turns out, fucking rip. I don’t know how else to describe their new song “Piss Up a Rope” other than post-hardcore, which is a simple description but basically tells you all you need to know. With trace metal elements, maybe; they’re be right at home on a tour with Norma Jean and Cancer Bats. Holy shit, that show would be insane! Can someone please put that together?

Listen to “Piss Up a Rope,” which premiered on Lambgoat, below, and check out another new song called “Holy Hell” here.

Vanna’s new album Void comes out on June 17th and can be pre-ordered here. Its massive, in-your-face production was crafted by Will Putney, who we’re working with to produce five unsigned bands as part of our Converse Rubber Tracks x MetalSucks series in July.
