This Gift is a Curse - SwinelordAre you ready for Sweden’s This Gift is a Curse? Sorry, that shouldn’t have been phrased as a question — you’re not ready. Just trust us. You are no prepared for infernal cacophony that is the blackened metal/crust quartet’s new album, All Hail the Swinelord. Rarely has the phrase “extreme music” been as apt as it is here. We don’t know anything about these dudes as people, but if you told us that they actually did enlist the aid of the Swinelord to make this album, we’d believe you. It’s that kinda scary.

Which is why we jumped at the chance to debut a song from the album, “Hanging Feet,” this morning! It’s like coffee, only better, because it will make you fear for your life, and nothing keeps you more awake and alert than fearing for your life.

Says the band of the track:

“We wrote ‘Hanging Feet’ quite early during the songwriting process and really enjoy performing it live. In the beginning it consisted of a fast and a slow part, but we decided to drop the first and focus on the latter. This turned the track into a sludge anthem. Reducing the speed also suited the lyrics better, which deal with us wanting the world – as we have come to understand it – to end. Their author, J. A. Holmberg used esoteric symbolism to describe the process of seeing through the veil of reality as well as phasing out from it: ‘I was never here at all / Dark father/ Take us home’.”

Listen to “Hanging Feet” below… if you dare. All Hail the Swinelord is out October 16 on Season of Mist. Pre-order it here!!!
