The good news: last month, Eyehategod’s Mike IX Williams successfully underwent a liver transplant, and according to a new press release, “his new liver [started] producing bile almost right away, an extremely good sign, enough for doctors to downgrade him to the hospital hotel.”

The bad news: getting sick in America costs a fuckton of money.

To that end, the band has announced both a trio of benefit shows, as well as some new benefit merch, with all proceeds going to help Williams cover his medical bills.

The shows will take place from February 3-5 at Siberia and Poor Boys, both in New Orleans. Eyehategod will perform with guest vocalists; other acts slated to participate include Crowbar, Goatwhore, Superjoint, Thou, Child Bite, Flesh Parade, Classhole, Yakuza’s Bruce Lamont, and Jimmy Bower. Additionally, the shows will include raffles to win signed editions of the gig poster by Revolting Worship’s Nate Burns, Orange Amps, O-Edition headphones, Eyehategod test pressings, other Mike IX-related memorabilia, and more.To get more details and buy tickets, go here.

If you can’t make it one of the shows but still want to help, you can also purchase merch featuring Burns’ design here. Or you can just go here and donate any amount you see fit, no matter how small. Remember, every penny counts.

More benefit shows will be announced soon. We’ll keep you updated.
