CINEMETAL: SUICIDE SILENCE, “THE PRICE OF BEAUTY”

Regardless of what you think of Suicide Silence’s music – and we happen to think it’s pretty good – there’s no denying that they’re on the cusp of being a major band in the metal world. Check it out: their debut album, The Cleansing, sold 7,100 copies in its first week of release to debut at #94 on the Billboard charts. That’d be massively impressive for any new band playing music this brutal (it was the highest for a new Century Media artist) – but its even more noteworthy when you factor in the complete lack of support from Headbanger’s Ball after MTV banned the video for the group’s lead single, “The Price of Beauty.”

Here’s said Viacom-unfriendly video, so y’all can see what all the hype is about. The band is about to hit the road with A Life Once Lost and Walls of Jericho – get a complete list of tour dates on their MySpace page.
