Tour de Force

In October, Axl Rose told That Metal Show that Duff McKagan’s Loaded featuring Duff McKagan was going to open some shows on GN’R current North American headlining tour. But then we didn’t hear anything else about it for over a month, so I think most people either assumed it wasn’t happening, or forgot about it all together.

But now it’s actually happening, and is happening this week, no less, in Seattle and Vancouver.

If I lived anywhere in the area, I would totally go to one of these shows, ’cause a) it’s completely fucking bizarre that an original member of Guns N’ Roses is now opening for Guns N’ Roses, and b) McKagan will almost surely join the band on-stage for a song or two, which marks a rare opportunity to see an original member of Guns N’ Roses perform with Guns N’ Roses. I mean, back in 2001, Slash couldn’t even get into a Guns N’ Roses show… but I guess it never occurred to him to ask if Slash’s Snakepit could play support. Duff is so clever!

Here are the dates if you’re interested. Assuming ticket sales are as weak for these gigs as they were for the New Jersey gig I attended last month, there are still tons of good seats available:

12/16 — Seattle, WA @ Key Arena
12/17 — Vancouver, BC @ Pacific Coliseum

If you haven’t seen it yet, you can also watch footage of Duff performing with nu-GN’R last year in London right here.
