MADE OUT OF BABIES: NOW MADE OUT OF NOTHING

Made Out of Babies is a great band. They make great records and they put on great live performances and their vocalist, Julie Christmas, often seems, at least in concert, truly unhinged, in the best possible way. They are, in a word, awesome.

Only I guess I should say “were,” not are,” ’cause Julie Christmas went on Facebook last night to say that the band is fucking dead. Her statement reads:

So at least we’re not left with any lingering questions.

My sarcastic tone aside, this is a serious bummer. The band hadn’t put out a release since 2008’s unfuckwithable The Ruiner, but I didn’t take the long delay between albums as a bad sign, ’cause I’m naive I guess. Now I’m gonna hafta spend my day watching this performance of “Invisible Ink” on repeat and weeping. Swell.
