SATAN IS ALIVE: CHECK OUT THIS AWESOME ART TRIBUTE TO MERCYFUL FATE

0

Well, this is a pretty cool idea. Mark Rudolph, who has contributed to Decibel and Metal Hammer, amongst others, is currently in the process of putting together Satan is Alive: A Tribute to Mercyful Fate. But it’s not a tribute ALBUM — rather, it’s an ILLUSTRATED tribute, in which underground cartoonists and some of the best visual artists currently working in the world of metal will contribute comics and illustrations inspired by legendary Danish band’s music.

In addition to pieces by Rudolph and other Decidudes like J. Bennett and Nick Green, Rudolph has already collected contributions from the great Chuck BB, Henry & Glenn Forever‘s Tom Neely and Ed Luce, Kim Holm of Pickman’s Model fame, and more. And as if that didn’t sound rad enough, there will also be forwards by Darkthrone’s Fenriz and Repulsion’s Scott Carlson!

Here’s a trailer for the project, set to, and inspired by, Mercyful Fate’s classic “Satan’s Fall”:

You can get more details on Satan is Alive: A Tribute to Mercyful Fate here. Rudolph is also soliciting funding for the completion of the project via Kickstarter; go here to help!
