Unsigned and Unholy: One Inch Giant, As We Break, Zaius

Zaius - Divided by Tides

One Inch Giant are signed to Soulseller Records, but I’m gonna give ’em an Unsigned and Unholy pass on account of the label’s small size and roster. Since ASG are fresh on the dome I’m going to liken One Inch Giant to a mix between ASG and Opeth, the first track below sounding like the former and the second like the latter. I think you’ll dig ’em. The Great White Beyond is out now.

Fast and groovy hardcore-cum-death metal from As We Break. Not deathcore. More like mostly hardcore with a little bit of a death metal sprinkled in. OK, maybe slightly deathcore-y at certain moments.

The world needs more instru-metal bands like Zaius, who steer completely clear of djent while still managing to bring the groove (via Maserati), atmospherics (via Constants, If These Trees Could Talk, etc) and the heavy (via Scale the Summit). Bomb. That album cover is pretty sweet (above), although the mix could use a little extra polish.
