Exclusive Track Premiere: Bangladeafy’s “Elixir”

Bangladeafy - The Briefcase

We couldn’t blame you if, at first, you assumed that the spazzy experimental duo Bangladeafy was just another gimmick band. A drummer of Bangladeshi origins (Atif Haq) and a bassist/pianist/vocalist born with sensio-neural hearing loss (Jon Ehlers)? And they draw attention to these facts with their band’s very name? They must be overcompensating for something… right?

WRONG. Bangladeafy is one of the most original, and straight-up weird (we mean that as a compliment) acts we’ve heard in quite some time. Which is why we’re proud to debut “Elixir” an instrumental jam from their new EP, The Briefcase. We’re not even quite sure how the hell to describe it to you… it’s like proggy tech metal mixed with funk mixed with jazz mixed with punk mixed with LSD. Really, that’s the best description we can come up with. You should really just listen and experience this insanity for yourself.

Stream “Elixir” below. Bangladeafy will self-release The Briefcase conjunction with Nefarious Industries on July 9. Pre-order info should be announced shortly. In the meantime, the band are playing three shows weekend, and they are not to be missed live! Get dates — and watch some live clips — after the song stream!
