Watch a Four-Minute Time Lapse Video of the Creation of Protest the Hero’s Volition Album Artwork

Protest the Hero Volition Special Edition

Protest the Hero unveiled what at the time looked like some pretty sweet album artwork in early September, then yelled a collective “psych!” when they released the true cover in extravagant fashion earlier this month. Turns out the first one was the “O-card” — that cardboard sleeve that goes around the jewel case — and the second one was the album’s really for real cover.

Now it turns out there’s yet another version of the cover, that of the special edition available only to those who participated in PtH’s history-making Indiegogo campaign. Dan Mumford designed it, and you can watch his entire creative process in a four-minute time-lapse video below. Fascinating stuff — make sure you go full screen with it.

Did you not participate in the Indiegogo campaign but still find yourself wanting this sweet piece of art? Tough noogies! Maybe you can try your luck on eBay some day in the future. The special edition’s liner notes were also all designed by Mumford.
