Incantation_logo_800Incantation have released the following statement via their website:

“With a heavy heart we announce the resignation of our long time metal brother Alex Bouks. Over the last few years there have been some rough waters that we have all been navigating. A hiatus is more desired, thinking this is the best thing to do to save the magic that we have all worked together on.

“With respect we wish only the best to Alex and his work outside the band. He is truly an amazing musician and we are happy to have worked with him.”

Although Bouks is an excellent guitarist, but he’s only been in the band since 2008, and he’s only appeared on one Incantation album — 2012’s Vanquish in Vengeance — so I don’t doubt the group’s ability to solider on with him.

But what does the awkwardly phrased “A hiatus is more desired” mean? Are Incantation, in fact, going on hiatus? That would make me sad… but if it’s what they gotta do to preserve that (black) magic, well, I’ll just have to rough it without ’em for a little while.
