Judas Priest Post “Metal Gods” Clip from Battle Cry DVD/Blu-Ray

Judas Priest - Battle CryAs we told you last month, Judas Priest will release Battle Cry, a new live album and accompanying DVD/Blu-ray, later this month. The main part of the release is the band’s performance at Wacken 2015, and now we get to see them play their classic 1980 track “Metal Gods” from that portion.

And man, this footage is pretty fuckin’ great. There’s no denying that Rob Halford isn’t nearly as nimble as he once was (the man will turn 65 years old in 2016!), but he still manages to command the presence of the tens (hundreds?) of thousands of heshers in attendance and he sounds absolutely phenomenal. Sure, it does seem weird that Priest have chosen to release this collection right now given not much has changed since their last live release (swapping K.K. Downing for Richie Faulkner on guitar, and any songs from Redeemer of Souls), but the answer to the question “Who is this for?” is apparently simply “All Judas Priest fans.”

The DVD/Blu-ray also has bonus tracks that were recorded this past December in Poland. Battle Cry comes out on March 25th via Epic Records.
