Exclusive Track Premiere: Zhrine, “Empire”

We’ve been following Iceland’s latest metal export Zhrine for some time, since back when they were called Shrine (we approve of the name change!) and even before that, Gone Postal. So we’re extremely proud to offer the world a premiere of the band’s new song “Empire,” taken from their forthcoming full-length album Unortheta.

Like “Spewing Gloom,” which the band put out last month, the new track offers a glimpse into the bleak, dark world from whence it came: it’s churning, it’s uncomfortable, it’s dissonant, it’s gnarly and it’s nasty. It’s a lot of death, some black, a little bit of a whole lot of other things and it’s 100% guaranteed to make you question what you’re even doing by wasting your time on this forsaken planet we call home.

Unortheta comes out April 8th via Season of Mist. Pre-order here.
