Exclusive Track Premiere: Mustard Gas and Roses, “Let it Roll” (feat. Members of Isis, Ides of Gemini, Chelsea Wolfe)

If you’re familiar with guitarist Mike Gallagher’s catalog of work — with some band called Isis — then you’ve already got some idea of what to expect from Mustard Gas and Roses, a solo project he worked on during his downtime, releasing three full albums scattered over the years amongst Isis’s five.

With a whole lot more free time on his hands following Isis’s demise, Gallagher turned Mustard Gas and Roses into a full-fledged band, recruiting guitarist J. Bennett (Ides Of Gemini, writer for Decibel Magazine) Chelsea Wolfe guitarist Bryan Tulao and drummer Sash Popovic (Black Math Horseman, Mother Tongue) to round out the lineup. Tours with A Storm of Light, Pelican and Boris followed. And with the renewed focus that comes with dedication, the band is poised to release their highest profile album to date later this fall.

Fans of Isis will find plenty of similarities in Mustard Gas and Roses’ music, but by no means is the band simply Isis Part II. Rather than bore your eyes with platitudes, we suggest you use your ears by pressing play on “Let it Roll” below; you’re going to like what you hear.

Becoming comes out on October 14th; pre-order on vinyl or CD, or digitally on Bandcamp.
