Wovenwar Part Ways with Guitarist Phil Sgrosso

  • Axl Rosenberg

We’re just weeks away from the release of Wovenwar’s sophomore album, Honor is Dead.. and now comes news that will render that record’s release somewhat bittersweet for fans. Guitarist Phil Sgrosso — who, like three of Wovenwar’s other four members, was also in As I Lay Dying — has announced he’s leaving the band:

So that’s kind of a bummer. But Poison Headache, the new project Sgrosso launched earlier this year, is really good — assuming that’s the “other musical endeavor” Sgrosso is pursuing, it’s hard to complain too much.

Wovenwar have yet to announce a replacement, but I imagine that will happen soon.

Honor is Dead comes out October 21 on Metal Blade. Poison Headache’s self-titled debut is out now on that very same label.
