If you guessed that a band called Burial in the Sky would be both heavy and spacey, go to the fridge and get yourself a treat — you guessed correctly. That’s not a bad thing. The band’s full-length debut, Persistence of Thought, has more in common with The Contortionist than the use of roman numerals in many of its song titles. Like the work of that band, Fallujah, and other acts of their ilk, Burial in the Sky’s music creates the sensation of gently floating on a wave… which suddenly turns into a tsunami.

And as if that wasn’t enough to recommend it, Persistence of Thought also features Decrepit Birth drummer (and friend of MetalSucks!) Samus Paulicelli.

Get a taste of Persistence of Thought via Burial in the Sky’s new single, “Anchors,” below. The album comes out November 4. Pre-order it here.
