Brent Hinds Proposes to Girlfriend On Stage During Mastodon Show
Metal stages are no strangers to marriage proposals, with shows by Amon Amarth, Machine Head, Napalm Death and others having been the chosen location for many a metal fan to pop the question in recent years.
But as far as I can remember, Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds’ proposal to his girlfriend Raisa mid-set is the first time it’s been done by a member of a band during his own show. The band’s tour with Eagles of Death Metal and Russian Circles passed through Birmingham, AL over the weekend, the closest stop to Hinds’ hometown of Atlanta, and Brent got down on one knee and popped the question with his mom in the audience.
