Seattle, WA’s Himsa, the only metalcore band whose mere name conjures images of Jar Jar Binks*, have announced that they’ll reunite at next year’s Northwest Terror Fest — nearly ten years after they played their final show in August ’08. And not only will they reunite, but they’ll be playing their 2003 sophomore album, Courting Tragedy and Disaster, in full.
No word yet on whether or not the band also plans to tour at some point, or perhaps even make new music. If I was them, I’d probably hold off on a full-blown reunion effort for another couple of years. I think it’s still a mite early for the inevitable NWOAHM revival.
Northwest Terror Fest will take place May 31 through June 2 at the Neumos, Barboza, and Highline Bar in Seattle, WA. According to Lambgoat, other acts confirmed for the bill include The Atlas Moth, Mantar, Panopticon, Primitive Man, and SubRosa. So it’ll probably be a sweet time whether you dig Himsa or not.
*The name actually has something to do with violence or non-violence or semi-violence or something like that. But it still conjures images of Jar Jar Binks.
