If you love Metallica and have vacation time stored up and money to burn, this may be for you!

The biggest metal band of all time will sell what they’re calling the Wherever I May Roam Black Ticket for their massive 2018/2019 arena tour, which was announced yesterday. Priced at $598 to remind you that there’s a reissue of The $5.98 EP – Garage Days Re-Revisited coming out, the ticket will allow you general admission entrance to any show on Metallica’s upcoming tour so long as you RSVP at least 48 hours in advance.

There’s thirty-four stops on the trek, so if you went to all of them, each show would cost you roughly $17.60, less than anyone has paid to see Metallica since the ’80s. More realistically, after three shows the ticket would pay for itself, according to the helpful mathematicians at Metal Injection.

Of course, you still have figure out how you’re getting from town to town, where you’re staying when you arrive, and what to do about those socially-constructed chains around your neck (e.g., work, family, etc.). But even if you just went to a small cluster of dates, it could make for a fun road trip. Not hurting matters any is that Metallica actually change their setlist from night to night, so you wouldn’t just be seeing the same show over and over and over again.

Or you could just go to one show like a normal person. That’s cool too.

Dates for the tour are here. Wherever I May Roam Black Tickets can purchased here.
