“Fade into the Ash”: Bleeding Through Debut New Song and Video

Bleeding Through’s new single, “Fade Into the Ash,” is pretty silly. Half of it sounds like a generic metalcore song from 2006, and half of it sounds like a local band’s demo for a power ballad. But I will say this for the track:

  • Bleeding Through continue not to over-correct frontman Brandan Schieppati’s clean vocals. During the choruses, Schieppati sounds like Robert Smith if Robert Smith was on anti-depressants, the side effects of which included tone deafness and a sinus infection. That is a brave choice in this day and age.
  • The ‘Circus of the Macabre’ section from 2-2:30 is so on the nose as to be metalcore camp. I friggin’ love this part of the song, even though it’s so, so very dumb.

I also have to admit that in the course of listening to the song multiple times for the purposes of writing this post, it grew on me quite a bit. Don’t get me wrong, the song is still ridiculous, but it’s a fun ridiculousness.

Check out “Fade Into the Ash” via the below video. The band’s new album, Love Will Kill All, is out May 25 on Sharptone.
