Smashing Pumpkins Joined By Chino Moreno, Davey Havok, Courtney Love and More On Stage for Monumental Clusterfuck 30th Anniversary Show

Yesterday, August 2nd, The Smashing Pumpkins held their special 30th anniversary show at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ. The event featured an… interesting… cast of special guests from all over the board, including:

Chino Moreno (Deftones, Palms, etc.)
Davey Havok (AFI, Dreamcar, etc.)
Peter Hook (ex-New Order/Joy Division)
Courtney Love (ex-Hole)
Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray)
Dave Keuning (The Killers)
Mark Stoermer (The Killers)

I’m at a loss for words. What the flagitious fuck? Whose idea was this, anyway? Surely none of the members of The Smashing Pumpkins had anything to do with this atrocity… right?

What makes this even weirder is that half of these musicians are actually meritable. Somebody out there consciously went through the thought process of “You know who we should throw on the bill with The Smashing Pumpkins and Chino Moreno? Oh I know, how about Courtney Love and Davey Havok!” and that’s just absolutely baffling. Please fire that guy.

Anyway, here’s plenty of fan-filmed footage of the show for all of your viewing pleasure. Some, like the performance of “Bodies” with Moreno, are actually good, but it’s a gamble, so proceed with caution. You can check out the full set-list below for further hilarity, then word-vomit your thoughts in the comment section.
