And the Drummer on Whitechapel’s New Album is…

0

Whitechapel parted ways with longtime drummer Ben Harclerode in August of 2017, and they’ve since yet to land on a stable replacement. Chason Westmoreland (ex-Hate Eternal, ex-Burning The Masses, etc.) and Anthony Barone (ex-Aegaeon) have chipped in for the band’s live shows, but with the band currently in the studio with producer Mark Lewis would they attempt to settle on a permanent replacement?

That remains unclear, but their solution for finding a drummer to play on their new album is still pretty rad: it’s Navene Koperweis, currently of Entheos and formerly of Animals as Leaders. Navene posted as much on Facebook over the weekend, although neither he nor the band have stated whether he’ll be joining the band in a more permanent fashion (my gut says probably not). In either case, Navene’s presence on the band’s next album will be welcomed by all; the guy is an absolute MONSTER of a drummer, and it’s my sincere hope that the band has allowed him some leeway to introduce a bit of his patented technicality to their music.

We’ll see! In any case, expect the next Whitechapel album to drop some time in the first half of 2019.
