Slipknot Issue Casting Call for New Music Video

Slipknot may be in the studio right now with Ross Robinson with a new album planned for 2019, but it appears they’re plotting something else in the interim to keep fans satiated.

The band posted yesterday on both Instagram and Facebook (the latter of which has since been deleted) asking fans to apply for a “20th anniversary music video casting call.” Those interested in being in the shoot, which is scheduled for October 5th in L.A., are being asked to email their name and age to slipknot20th@gmail.com.

While this could be a diversionary tactic — claiming the shoot is for some kind of 20th anniversary celebration when it’s actually for a new song — that seems unlikely given how early it still is in the recording process for the next album. Next year marks the 20th anniversary of the band’s self-titled debut record, so the natural assumption is they’re planning something special around that. What the video actually ends up being is anyone’s guess.

If you apply and end up being selected for this thing, please let us know what it’s like, NDAs be damned: news@metalsucks.net!
