Guns N’ Roses Allegedly Entering the Studio This Weekend

As with all things Guns N’ Roses, you should take this with a grain of salt until there’s some kind of super-duper-officially-official announcement.

Having said that, it appears that Guns N’ Roses are entering the studio the studio tomorrow to record new material.

As first reported by Guns N’ Roses Central, the news (or “news” I should say) came via a since-deleted social media post (shitty screenshot below) in which a presumably soon-to-be-out-of-work employee of Kruse Kontrol Amplification revealed that he was servicing one of Slash’s amps for the recording session. Said person also name dropped Caram Costanzo, the last of something like 783 producers to work on Chinese Democracy.

“Slash’s 1987 Silver Jubilee in the house! Dropped off by GnR producer Caram Costanzo himself the amp needs to be serviced and tuned up to sound stellar for this Saturday’s recording of new material at Axl Rose’s studio in Malibu. I’m one of the very few fortunate few ever getting to work on and play this cool amp!”

Slash has previously said that the band would focusing on  following a “small tour” in October, which includes appearances at the Louder Than Life and Exit 111 festivals. Duff McKagan, meanwhile, praised Axl Rose’s “magnificent” new material back in February.

I think the bottom line is, we will get new Guns N’ Roses music at some point, but we should also, like, just go about our business until it arrives, because who the crap knows when that will be. It would be neat if the band dropped a new song in time for those fall shows, but I can’t imagine that will actually happen. There was a time (pun intended) not so long ago when fans could rightfully assume Rose would take a trillion years to record new music, but given the sunnier disposition of the pod person who has replaced the singer, this might actually go down before the ladies of Babymetal enter middle age.
