Update, September 14, 10:22pm EDT: Lindemann’s new album, F & M, will come out on November 22.

Original Post:

Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann and Hypocrisy/Pain founder Peter Tägtgren are getting set to release a new album under the Lindemann moniker, but while details for the effort are still scarce the duo has revealed its first single, “Steh Auf.”

“Steh Auf” sounds very much like the sum of its parts: the track features Till’s unmistakeable voice (singing in German, natch) and the music has elements somewhat reminiscent of Rammstein, but that group’s trademark aural pyrotechnics have been replaced by Tägtgren’s distinctly Swedish, melodic death metal touch. The result is exactly what you’d imagine Lindemann fronting Hypocrisy might sound like.

Heafy’s remix replaces Tägtgren’s heavy guitar chugs with arpeggiated acoustic lines. Listening to the two versions one after the other is a fun exercise in how a song’s arrangement can vastly influence the way it’s received.

Stream ’em both below. Details on the new Lindemann album as soon as we have them.
