Dool Drop New Song, “Sulphur & Starlight,” Announce New Album

0

Dool’s set at Hellfest last summer was undoubtedly one of the best I saw that weekend. Perhaps part of that was novelty — I’d never seen them before and it’s possible I never will again, as they’re scarce in the U.S. — but the two folks I dragged to that performance, neither of whom had even heard of the band before, were similarly wowed. For me, not only was it a treat to watch them play songs from their 2017 album, one of my favorites that year, but the band sounded absolutely fantastic and were total pros on stage.

With that in mind, I’m amped for the band’s recently announced new album, Summerland. They just dropped its first single, “Sulphur & Starlight,” and it’s a welcome reminder of what I loved so much about Here Now, There Then, combining psych metal, ’90s alt rock and a touch of prog into a truly singular sound. Jam it below. Hopefully they’ll make it to the U.S. for some live dates before too long.

Summerland comes out on April 10 via Prophecy Productions; pre-order here.
