Testament Debut New Song “Children of the Next Level”
Nothing good has ever come of anything that used the moniker “Heaven’s Gate.” Whether you’re talking one of the biggest Hollywood box office failures of all time or the infamous cult that committed mass suicide in 1997, the name is just bad, bad news.
It’s the latter subject which inspired the lyrics for Testament’s new single, “Children of the Next Level,” natch. Although there would be something bleakly humorous if it was about the movie that nearly sunk an entire studio. Wisely, though, Testament didn’t dub the song “Heaven’s Gate,” thereby avoiding the curse of that phrase. The lyrics might be dark AF, but the song rocks.
Listen to “Children of the Next Level” at the bottom of this post. It will appear on Testament’s new album, Titans of Creation, which drops April 3. The band kicks off a tour with The Black Dahlia Murder and Municipal Waste later that month. Dates for that trek are as follows:
