Listen: Dave Grohl and St. Vincent Team up for Nine Inch Nails Cover

  • Axl Rosenberg

Metal-loving non-metal musician St. Vincent has enlisted the one and only Mr. Dave Grohl to play drums on a new cover of Nine Inch Nails’ “Piggy.” The cover, according to Ms. St., is meant “To celebrate Nine Inch Nails’ induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this week.”

And it’s a good cover! “Piggy” isn’t exactly the heaviest NIN song, so it doesn’t feel like such a stretch for St. Vincent to take it on. I mean it’s not like she chose “Gave Up” or “The Wretched,” right?

The only bad news is that the track is, at least for now, an Amazon Music exclusive. The good news is, if you’re one of the one-trillion subscribers to Amazon Prime, you already have access and can listen below.

The following members of Nine Inch Nails will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Reznor this weekend:

  • programmer/keyboardist, etc. Atticus Ross (2016 – present)
  • guitarist Robin Finck (1994 – 2000, 2008 – present)
  • keyboardist Alessandro Cortini (2004 – 2008, 2013 – present )
  • drummer Ilan Rubin (2009 – present)
  • keyboardist Chris Vrenna (1988 – 1990, 1992 – 1997)
  • bassist Danny Lohner (1993 – 2003)

The ceremony will be broadcast on HBO on Saturday, November 7 at 8pm EST.
