Ottto sounds like the name of a fancy restaurant at which it’s very difficult to get a reservation. But it’s actually a band that features amongst its ranks bassist Tye Trujillo, offspring of Metallica’s Robert Trujillo and kid who toured with Korn at the ripe old age of twelve.

I say a band because the younger Trujillo has a whole lotta projects in various stages of development right now, including Thredge, Switchblade, Loco Lords, and Blu Weekend. The latter band also includes singer Noah Weiland, son of late Stone Temple Pilots/Velvet Revolver singer Scott Weiland, who was also previously in the now-disbanded Suspect208 with Trujillo and Slash’s son, London Hudson.

For their part, Ottto are pretty good! Their new single, “Ride Low,” is some catchy stuff.

You can check it out via the below music video. The clip was directed by Paul Marchand, who also made the Jaco Pastorius documentary, Jaco… which oh hey wouldn’t you know it was produced by Robert Trujillo.

Ottto released an EP in 2020 and will release a full-length “soon.”
