“More melodic and soulful.” “Quite hard to describe.” “Definitely got me through some tough moments.”

If you’re lucky, you have one or two bands in your life that make you feel something when you listen to them. In an exclusive clip Howl of the Underdogs, a music documentary featuring Madder Mortem, some of the group’s fans try to describe what the Norwegian melodic metal band’s music means to them.

Written and directed by Randy M. Salo, Howl of the Underdogs was filmed as the band prepared for their 20th anniversary and corresponding European tour. It’s an unflinching look at Madder Mortem and the undercurrent of emotional pain and hardship that the band and its singer Agnete M. Kirkevaag has had to deal with over the years.

Howl of the Underground premieres tomorrow, August 16 on iTunes, Apple TV, Amazon, Google Play, and YouTube. You can also preorder the documentary now on Apple TV and iTunes.
