Bodysnatcher Find “Value Through Suffering” in New Video

0

Florida deathcore outfit Bodysnatcher are all set to begin their tour with metallic hardcore icons Hatebreed and death metal road warriors Gatecreeper, spreading their gospel of breakdowns to listeners across the United States for nearly a month. To get the party started the right way, Bodysnatcher have shared the official video for “Value Through Suffering,” which you can watch below.

“Value Through Suffering” is a track from Bodysnatcher’s album Bleed-Abide, which was released in April. As one of the standout songs on Bleed-Abide—because of Bodysnatcher’s use of eerie melodies and furious tremolo picking, as well as skull-smashing heaviness—it’s an excellent choice for a post-release single. Alongside bands like Lorna Shore, Bodysnatcher feel like they’re aiming for the next step in the genre rather than leaning on tired djent and deathcore tropes.

The accompanying video is something we can all relate to: the struggle with mental health and the feeling that the walls are closing in around us. The video features actor Trey Torr, who at first is having a meltdown triggered by negative emotions and circumstances in his life but ends with Torr reclaiming control of his life. At the end of the video, a message of hope from drummer Chris Whited appears, promising the viewer that they can find their own “Value Through Suffering.” He tells MetalSucks about the song:

“‘Value Through Suffering’ was written as a message to myself to not let the struggles in life bring you down, but rather allow them to build you into a better, stronger version of yourself. So really sit down and feel the horrible things you have been through and appreciate the person you are today.”

Bleed-Abide is out now. Tour starts on October 25 in Horseheads, NY.
