Meshuggah’s Chaosphere to Be Remastered for 25th Anniversary

0

Earlier this year, Swedish extreme metal outfit Meshuggah dropped a celebratory remaster of their classic album ObZen for its 15th anniversary. With each song getting another pass in the studio and a crisper version of the 2008 album being the result, it’s only natural that the band would look to the rest of their discography to see what else they could do to clean those tracks up.

As a result, the band announced earlier today that they’ll be releasing a 25th anniversary edition of Chaosphere that will also get the remaster treatment.

Released back in 1998, Chaosphere was the band’s third full-length studio release and featured tracks like “Neurotica,” “Corridor Of Chameleons,” and “New Millennium Cyanide Christ.” As a package, it marked a moment where the band was shedding its thrashier past and began going down the wild, super technical lane they now occupy.

Just as was the case with ObZen, both Thomas Eberger and Sofia von Hage at Stockholm Mastering will have a hand at remastering Chaosphere into high-def audio. The end result will be available on all streaming platforms, along with physical versions on CD and vinyl.

The remastered version of Chaosphere will be released on November 10 via Atomic Fire Records, though you can preorder your copy today.

If you’d rather catch the band live, you can do that shortly after the remastered Chaosphere is released. The tour will start in San Diego, California on November 21 and come to an end in Laval, Quebec on December 16. You can see a full list of tour dates below.
