Staind’s New Single “In This Condition” is Peak 2000s Radio Rock

0

Everything that’s old is new again, it seems. At least that’s what this latest revival of nu-metal and alt rock leads me to believe, what with the revival of the likes of Limp Bizkit, Creed, and even the MAGA chud-fronted band Staind. Earlier today, the world got another taste of that last band’s upcoming album and I gotta say — I feel like I’ve had this meal before.

As the second single off Staind’s upcoming album Confessions of the Fallen, “In This Condition” just sounds like I’m back in high school and listening to some middle aged man that just “gets me” with their songwriting.

Unlike the first single “Cycle of Hurting,” which incorporated a lot more electronic elements into the tried and true (and wildly successful) Staind formula, this one feels like some prime Breaking Benjamin ass music. It’s perfect for those after school hang outs where you feel like no one gets you but all your friends follow the same trends you do while you hang out in your mom’s basement. We’ve all been there.

I guess if this is your cuppajoe, then go for it. I’m not here to yuck your yum… I just think your yum is a little stale at this point. But like I said earlier, that doesn’t matter if it makes the band squillions in album sales and streams.

To that end, Confessions of the Fallen is slated for a September 15 release date and you can preorder it now. You can also catch them live with Godsmack and DJ Mix Master Mike at any of the dates posted below.
