Pantera to Announce Something Tomorrow

0

In a post that claims whatever’s coming next is “for the fans, for the brothers, for legacy,” Pantera shared a teaser video on Twitter yesterday that suggests a big announcement is coming for tomorrow, November 13.

Most folks think the announcement will be more tour dates, since the band only have five dates alongside Metallica announced so far for next year. Others, however, are speculating that they could be dropping a 30th anniversary edition of Far Beyond Driven. Since the video teaser features the song “5 Minutes Alone” and the record turns 30 in March of next year, this is a pretty good guess too.

Still, some are bold enough to hope this means there will be new music from Pantera. In a December 2022 interview, drummer Charlie Benante mentioned that could be possible.

“Oh man… who knows?” he said at the time. “Creatively, if we are just flowing and getting going, and things are starting to be really good, musically speaking, you never know what could happen. I’ve got tons of riffs. But we’re putting the cart before the horse. I like the positivity there, but I don’t know how people would react to that either at this point. I think first, let’s get out there and establish that we can play. I’m always open to the future.”

What it actually is remains to be seen, but maybe fans will luck out and get tour dates, a re-release, and the promise of new music.
