The Halo Effect Release New Single “The Defiant One”

0

Swedish melodic death metal outfit The Halo Effect just dropped a brand new single for a song they’ve been playing live for a while now. More than a year after the release of their debut studio effort Days of the Lost, fans of the band now have an official studio version of “The Defiant One.”

According to Setlist.FM, the band has played “The Defiant One” live 26 times, with its world premiere taking place back on February 16 at Debaser Hornstull Strand in Stockholm, Sweden. Vocalist Mikael Stanne said the song’s been in their repertoire since they worked on Days of the Lost.

“´The Defiant One´ was recorded during the Days of the Lost sessions and has been one of the songs we have played live last year. So in order to hold you over before we present you with what we have written and recorded for the next album here is ‘The Defiant One.’ The video was shot at Pustervik, Gothenburg during our sold out tour of Sweden and it captures us in our hometown among some of our closest friends. Enjoy!”

As for when their sophomore effort will be released, there’s no new information about that just yet. So at this time, “The Defiant One” is going to be your holdover until more concrete information comes out.

The Halo Effect are currently scheduled to go on tour through Europe with Meshuggah and Mantar next March. For more information and the full list of dates, scroll past the video below.
