Could The Summer Slaughter Tour Be Making a Comeback?

0

It’s been roughly five years since extreme metal fans got to attend the last ‘Summer Slaughter Tour’ and in that time, the landscape has changed. Bands we thought were done for good have come back and once considered dead festivals have made their triumphant return, so why can’t the formerly annual run of killer metal shows make a comeback?

That’s the question folks behind the social media accounts for the tour asked fans last night: “is it time for the return?” In addition to the question, organizers shared a number of tour posters from past years, asking fans which one was their favorite.

The post was made in collaboration with Sumerian Records on Instagram, so who knows what else the festival organizers’ first post in three years is angling at. Could it be that Sumerian Records acts would be heavily featured if the tour were to come back? Would they just be a sponsor? Nobody knows!

If it were to come back, it would be the perfect time to have bands from past years like The Black Dahlia Murder, Cryptopsy, Born of Osiris, Darkest Hour, The Red Chord, and so many others to share the stage yet again.

Or maybe this was all just some wishful thinking by some former intern that ran the tour’s social media pages and just remembered the login. Who knows at this point?
