Flat Black Work with Corey Taylor on New Song “Nothing To Some”

Whether you consider it a meeting of the assholes or an all-start collaboration, it’s happening. Flat Black, the band started by former Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Jason Hook, have shared a new single, “Nothing To Some,” and it features Slipknot‘s Corey Taylor on vocals.

The record is from the band’s forthcoming, debut album produced by Hook and Chris Collier. Details of the record are yet to be announced. The song showcases Taylor’s classic style that we’re all familiar with and will surely add star power to the album.

“‘Nothing To Some’ features the brutal and unapologetic Corey Taylor,” Hook says. “This guy is a bottomless pit of creativity and delivered a vocal that perfectly matched what I wanted for this track.

“The guitar solo is unique on the album in the way that I let it rip with no rhythm guitars underneath. Now that I’m in a one-guitar band, I could strip it down and let it be as raw as Corey is on the vocal track. I remember hammering out live takes with Rob pounding away next to me. It was inspiring.”

Flat Black will be on tour soon, again, in what some may consider a cringe-fest, others may be stoked on, with Godsmack and Nothing More after their appearances at both Upheaval Festival and Inkcarceration Festival.
