Sebastian Bach “Can Definitely See” Skid Row Reunion Happening

0

Days after it was announced that Skid Row vocalist Erik Grönwall was stepping down from the band due to health issues, it sounds like the band’s original vocalist Sebastian Bach is down to rekindling things and reuniting with his former bandmates.

The New Jersey native said as much during a recent interview with Metal Hammer, during which he said he wants to do it because it’s something he feels the fans have apparently wanted for years.

“I can definitely see that happening considering they play the same songs I play. When I get a substantial royalty check for an album I did with musicians that I haven’t been in the same room with since 1996, I feel like a piece of shit. Because we should be giving something back to the fans that have made this great life possible.

“For me, doing three albums with Skid Row, I was just getting started. I didn’t think it would be over and done with so quick.”

It’s been nearly 30 years since Bach sang for Skid Row, but his connection to the band has been unbreakable. Over the years, Skid Row has moved on from Bach after the band initially broke up in 1996. Since then, the band has had six different singers in their lineup, with Grönwall being the most recent.

Grönwall had undergone leukemia treatment just months before he was hired to front the classic glam metal band, but continued on despite that health issue. Last week, however, he announced that he was walking away from the band because of those very same health issues keeping him from performing to the best of his abilities and dealing with the rigors of a rock band’s touring schedule. Both parties said the split was amicable, with the band releasing the following statement.

“Today Skid Row and Erik Grönwall jointly announce that Erik will step down as the vocalist for Skid Row. Longtime friend Lzzy Hale of Halestorm will be taking over vocal duties for the upcoming scheduled four concerts.

“Erik has decided that the travel and rigors of the road is not conducive to his overall health and recovery, and wants to focus on a lifestyle that is more amenable for his well-being, healing and family.

“Skid Row is proud of what they have created and accomplished with Erik over the past two years and we wish nothing but the best to him and his health. To celebrate the last two years the band will be releasing a live album that perfectly captures this moment of time in the band’s 35+ year history, to be announced soon.”
