Metal, Science, and Halestorm Combine in Jose Mangin’s ‘Headbang for Science’ Charity

0

I don’t know if you know this already, but science is pretty fucking metal. From chemistry to biology to environmental studies, the world around us and how it operates is host to extremely badass things that we only know about through scientific discovery. So it only makes sense that a heavy metal charity that aims to help one of our own pursue a scientific degree would exist — enter Headbang For Science.

Created by SiriusXM curator/host and former Pharmacy grad student Jose “Metal Ambassador” Mangin back in 2021, the charity seeks to raise funds for an annual scholarship award designed for metalhead high school seniors, undergrads, and grad students that want to make a career in healthcare and/or physical science.

And while the charity aims at benefiting someone that fits those criteria, that doesn’t mean you don’t potentially get something out of donating. If you decide to kick in some cash for the cause, you’re entered into a chance to win the following kick ass prize package:

  • Two (2) VIP tickets to see Halestorm with I Prevail at Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, NV on Saturday, August 17, 2024
  • Round trip travel to Las Vegas, NV, and 2-night hotel stay for two (2)
  • Hang with Siriusxm Metal Host Jose Mangin for the day with a pick-up/drop-off at the hotel in a VinDime limo and dinner and drinks before the show
  • Two (2) Guest/Artist passes to go backstage with Jose at the Halestorm show and meet Lzzy + take a photo
  • Two (2) Photo Pit passes to take photos from the pit for the first few songs
  • Kramer Lzzy Hale Signature Guitar signed by Halestorm

Furthermore, depending on how much you donate, you can get some sweet bonuses like a custom Halestorm poster for a $100 donation. For an extra $50, you can get that poster signed — but only if you’re among the first 100 donors at that pledge level.

So what are you waiting for? Head over to the charity’s Fandiem page and make your money do some good for a change.
