Slipknot is Bringing Their Nostalgia Trip to North American Arenas

0

It was only a matter of time, but the Slipknot hype cup has runneth over with news that they’ll be taking their 25th anniversary celebration to North American arenas later this year. Dubbed the ‘Here Comes The Pain Tour’, fans will get the chance to bask in the nostalgia of remembering where they were when the band’s 1999 self-titled debut dropped — or just enjoy the tune if they’re not one of the olds.

In addition to the 16 dates they announced, Slipknot revealed that they’ll be taking Knocked Loose, Orbit Culture, and Vended along for the ride.

To say this was expected would be an understatement, as the band announced their 25th anniversary U.K. and European tour this past December. And let’s not forget the two Mexico shows they announced not too long ago, as well. For this run, the band will be hitting multiple major cities throughout the United States.

Looking back, guitarist Jim Root said the band was lucky they got to this point.

“We loved what we did with the first record but we didn’t even know if there was gonna be anything after that. We just wanted people to hear it. Selling out of records and shows, having successful tours– those are goals for any band. But the dream scenario in some ways, came true for us.”

Knotfest artist presale tickets will go on sale today at noon EST at the Knotfest website. Tickets will be available to the general public this Friday, May 3 at 10 a.m. via the Slipknot official website.
