Photos: Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe’s Spoken-Word Book Tour at Underground Arts in Philly on February 19
Over the last few weeks, Lamb of God frontman, accomplished photographer, and best-selling author Randy Blythe has been on the road for a series of spoken word stops and book signings to promote his sophomore literary offering, Just Beyond The Light: Making Peace With The Wars Inside Our Head. And while he’s been doing a hell of a job documenting each stop over on his personal Instagram page, we decided it would be great to pay the man a visit while he was in our backyard and have photographer Jess Ripper out to turn the camera lens back on the man.
According to those in attendance, the tour’s inaugural date featured a packed house at Philly’s Underground Arts. During the show, Blythe spent two hours sharing stories that discussed some pretty heady topics, including his battle with alcoholism, while still managing to keep the conversation light and engaging.
If you’re at all fan of Blythe or Lamb of God, you owe it to yourself to head out to one of the remaining dates on his spoken word tour. The dude’s super relatable, despite his whole ‘traveling around the world playing badass metal tunes to scores of rabid fans’ thing.
As always, a big thanks is in order for Jess Ripper, who was at the show to take these great photos. Comment on how good her work is down below. Oh and feel free to follow her on Instagram at @jess1ripper.
