Incite Get Dark and Brooding with “Dolores”
For the third single off their forthcoming album Savage New Times, Arizona-based thrash/groove metal outfit Incite is taking a bit of a left turn with “Dolores”.
While their previous singles “No Mercy No Forgiveness” and “Just a Rat” come at you like a monster truck loaded for bear, this new track takes a darker, more melodic and moodier tone. It’s still heavy and has the band’s attitude, but it’s definitely an opportunity for the band to show a different side of their sound. At times, it almost sounds black metal-ish.
With the new song out in the wild, frontman Richie Cavalera had this to say about the track:
“‘Dolores’ is the most boundary-pushing song we’ve ever made as a band. It’s shown us that we can push our sound into new areas while staying true to who we are and what we represent. It’s my personal favorite on this record, as it relates to a childhood dream I had. It’s insane to see and feel it come alive.”
