Ghost’s Latest Lore Drop Hints at Something Happening in December 2026… Maybe

0

Okay, this might be one of the more ridiculous lore dumps from that Swedish band everyone apparently loves to dunk on, Ghost. For years now, they’ve been releasing these “Chapter” videos on YouTube that advances the band’s narrative and this time, they not only might be hinting at some future event, but they’re apparently doing it 19 months ahead of time.

In the latest video titled Chapter 21: Is Someone Feeling Psalty?, ousted Ghost frontman turned “clergy leader” Frater Imperator continues to adjust to live away from the limelight now that his twin brother Papa V Perpetua is running the band. After goofing off watching some 80s television, he gets a call from Mr. Psaltarian (hence the title) and he’s trying to convince him that V is a fraud.

There’s a whole back and forth, but ultimately the part that matters is when they start talking about getting Frater Imperator and Papa V Perpetua in the same room together. It’s then that Psaltarian mentions not having the time for something like that until December 2026. Given how long Ghost’s tours tend to be and the popularity of the band’s latest album Skeletá, I can totally see the band being on the road and busy until then.

Maybe that’s just when the next lore dump will be and we’ll finally see Frater Imperator’s ultimate fate. After all, each of his predecessors were killed to make room for their successor, so Imperator’s really operating on borrowed time. Who knows? Then again, next year does officially mark 20 years of Ghost, so maybe it has something to do with that.

Anyway, we’re still seven months away from 2026, so why spend too much time thinking about that? Just a few weeks ago Ghost released the aforementioned Skeletá, so why not live in the here and now by listening to that wherever you get your music.
