EA Sports Reveals ‘College Football 26’ Trailer with “Enter Sandman”

If you feel like you’re experiencing a weird sense of déjà vu, don’t worry, because we’ve definitely been here before. Well, kind of.

Typically, it’s tradition for the Virginia Tech Hokies to walk out to Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” for their home games. In a brand-new promo video, EA Sports has shared a snippet of the trailer for their forthcoming College Football 26 – a new immersive game, with Metallica’s famous “Enter Sandman” playing in the background.

The Virginia Tech Hokies have been coming out to “Enter Sandman” for almost two decades now. And a few weeks ago, Metallica made history as they played at Virginia Tech’s Lane Stadium on May 7.

247Sports journalist Grant Hughes comments on the historical use of Metallica’s famous “Enter Sandman” at these games. He says,

“Since 2000, Virginia Tech has used the Metallica song “Enter Sandman” as its entrance theme at home games. The custom started when the stadium installed a new scoreboard, and the team debated between using Guns ‘N’ Roses’ “Welcome to the Jungle” and the Alan Parsons Project’s “Sirius” before settling on this famed tune. “Enter Sandman” is now ‘the unofficial theme of the Virginia Tech athletic department’ and electrifies the atmosphere in Lane Stadium every year.”

College Football 26 will officially be released on July 10 for Playstation 5 and XBox Series X|S.
