Cryptopsy’s New Single “Dead Eyes Replete” Takes Aim at YouTube Robbing Kids’ Youth

I know, that’s a weird as fuck headline, but it’s pretty much exactly what Cryptopsy vocalist Matt McGachy said. The band dropped the latest single off their forthcoming album An Insatiable Violence and apparently, it’s all about how kids these days are jumping headfirst into the whole content creation world at a young age in an attempt at being a mega YouTube star.

While probably innocuous to most observers, the band’s latest song takes aim at the idea that those same kids and the parents that should be guiding them to make better decisions are trading living life for money.

“‘Dead Eyes Replete’ is one of the most brutal songs on our new album. It reaches into the depths of the sordid world of YouTube child stars and how parents rob them of their youth and innocence all in the name of greed.”
