Novembers Doom Unveil First New Album in Six Years ‘Major Arcana’, Title Track Streaming Now

For the first time in years, melodic death/doom metal outfit Novembers Doom are gearing up to release a brand new album titled Major Arcana. Set for release this coming September, the album features 10 new tracks, including its title track, which was released today as the album’s first single.

Dark, brooding, heavy, massive sounding… all of those are terms/phrases you can easily describe the track “Major Arcana.” You can check that track out below.

Speaking of the track itself, vocalist Paul Kuhr said it marks a spike in the band’s creativity.

“The title track ‘Major Arcana’ represents significant growth for us, exploring new ideas and taking ourselves out of our comfort zone – both musically and thematically. Yet we are still staying true to who we are and the artistic legacy that we have created for so many years now. Each of us pushed hard to challenge ourselves as performers as well as songwriters, and we could hardly be any prouder of what we have accomplished with ‘Major Arcana’, both in terms of the song itself as well as the new album as a whole.”

In addition to the new album announcement, Novembers Doom revealed that they’ll be reissuing a 20th anniversary edition of The Pale Haunt Departure on October 3. This version will be released on vinyl for the very first time and will include an artbook, seven exclusive bonus tracks, rare images, and liner notes.

Major Arcana will be released on September 19, but you can preorder your copy today.
