Premiere: Combustion 96 “Rise” to the Occasion with New Single

0

What happens when you take members from Warbringer, Soulfly, and Threat Signal, put them in a room and have them write together? You apparently get what sounds like an early 2000s metal track — at least that’s what their new single “Rise” sounds like to me, anyway.

Comprised of Jon Howard (Threat Signal) on vocals, Chase Bryant (Warbringer, Soulfly) on bass, both Philip Näslund (Bruce Dickinson) on guitar, Niklas Rubensson (Guitar/Songwriter), Yoyo Bianchi (Drums) and fretless guitar virtuoso Ben Lechuga (Fretless Guitar), Combustion 96 certainly has the chops to put out some damn good music.

From the angular attack of their guitars to the thundering rhythms and cutting vocals, it’s a solid track that feels particularly like it would work well on contemporary rock radio.

Speaking of the track and its message, Howard said the song really stands on the idea of pushing through the hard times in life and making something of the situation.

“The motivation behind these lyrics really stemmed from some really horrible experiences I’ve had to go through. BUT instead of complaining about it, I made a point to learn and grow, and to not hold any regret or resentment. Holding onto shit like that only makes your life worse. This is about learning, growing and rising above instead of dwelling on the past and holding regret or anger… RISE UP!”

So definitely check out the track below. If you like what you hear, you can check the band out at one of the shows listed below.
