Sh*t That Comes Out Today: July 18, 2025
Unlike some other individuals out there, I’m happy to release the list. It may not be the one everyone’s looking for, but the list below has plenty of new music to keep you fueled for whatever rabbit holes you find yourself tumbling down this weekend in search of the truth.
Abigail Williams
A Void Within Existence (Agonia Records)
It’s harsh, it’s dissonant, it’s often times sharp and biting, but A Void Within Existence is yet another example of Abigail Williams doing whatever they want to do and forcing you to go along for the ride. This is one hell of a modern black metal release and one you should not deprive yourself of in the slightest.

Blind Equation
A Funeral In Purgatory (Prosthetic Records)
Cybergrind isn’t a genre I’m too familiar with, but this new release made me think I should probably give it a chance. The way this Chicago-based act melds synthwave, deathcore, and a little bit of black metal is really something else. Sure, there’s the occasional melodic moment here and there, but when it wants to get hard, boy howdy does it.

Firstborne
Lucky (M-Theory Audio)
Featuring ex-Lamb of God drummer Chris Adler, Girish and the Chronicles’ vocalist Girish Pradhan, and guitarist Myrone, this act’s debut album packs a punch. This one’s dripping with some good old heavy metal power that’s going to get you driving recklessly and banging your head.

Scars On Broadway
Addicted To The Violence (Scarred For Life)
We may not be getting a new System of a Down anytime soon (if ever), but this is probably the next best thing. Daron Malakian is in rare form on this record, bringing his signature frenetic style and punchy delivery that fans will immediately recognize.

Slaughter To Prevail
Grizzly (Sumerian Records)
You gotta give it up for a band that doesn’t fail to commit to the bit. After all these years, they’re still a buncha jacked Russians running around with silly looking devil masks, but you can’t deny the music. It’s that combination of a modern deathcore band mixed with Slipknot and a healthy dose of not giving a solitary fuck about critics. It’s the perfect soundtrack to a hard work out at the gym or a street fight after someone damaged your Lada.
